The new bookshelf units and organizers have given us a dedicated place for books, manipulatives, art supplies, and learning materials that were previously scattered or stored in hard-to-reach areas. One of the first projects we tackled with our newly organized materials was a collaborative book study. Students were able to easily browse and choose books from our neatly arranged shelves, and the excitement on their faces as they discovered new titles was truly priceless. It was clear they felt a new sense of ownership and pride in their learning space.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first walked into the classroom and saw the new bookshelf units and organizers, their reactions were full of wonder and excitement. Some of them gasped, others clapped, and many rushed over to explore. They immediately began pulling out books, stacking supplies, and commenting on how \"fancy\" and \"cool\" everything looked. The new layout has made daily routines smoother; students now independently find and return materials, which has increased both their responsibility and confidence. Looking ahead, we're diving into a project-based learning unit where students will research, write, and illustrate their own informational books. The accessibility of our materials and the improved organization will play a huge role in helping them succeed. This year, I was able to impact over 180 students! Your generous donation of a class set of The Great Gatsby allowed many students to access a novel they would not have had an opportunity to otherwise. A classroom that is an environment rich in text is sometimes a student's only experience with books. Thank you for supporting our students by providing access to this wonderful novel!\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom looks lots of different ways, including reader's theater, audiobooks, graphic novels, and SSR. Having the class set of this exciting story gave my English 11 students a new novel to interact with, but it also offered a wonderful opportunity for AP Literature students to use The Great Gatsby for outside reading.
