My students have a wide range of sensory, physical, and learning needs, and these materials have helped us create a space where they can access the supports they need while still being active members of our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating gives students choices beyond a traditional classroom chair and allows them to find a position that helps their bodies feel comfortable and ready to learn. The spin chair has quickly become a valuable sensory tool for students who need movement and vestibular input to regulate their bodies. Instead of simply asking a student to sit still when their body is telling them to move, we now have a safe and appropriate way to meet that need.\r\n\r\nThe light board has also become a wonderful addition to our sensory and fine-motor activities. Students can explore colors, shapes, letters, numbers, and manipulatives in a way that is engaging and hands-on. It gives us another way to turn learning into something students can see, touch, and experience.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials have helped make our classroom more responsive to our students. When students have access to the sensory and seating supports their bodies need, they are better able to regulate, participate, communicate, and learn.
