Your donations have made a profound impact on our \"Wellness Wednesday's\" project and I'm excited to share how your generosity has been directly influencing our students' well-being.\r\n\r\nWellness Wednesday is a weekly lunchtime event designed to address the growing mental health needs of our students. With your support, we've been able to offer a safe, structured environment where students can explore healthy coping strategies, reduce stress, and build resilience. Over the past eight Wednesday's, we've seen tremendous engagement from our students—each event draws between 60 to 90 participants, which highlights the strong interest in and need for this program. Our kiddo's not only look forward to Wednesday, they expect it. Which has truly made a positive shift in our school culture. \r\n\r\nThanks to your donations, we've been able to incorporate several valuable resources into our Wellness Wednesday sessions. The art supplies you provided have been a significant part of these activities. Every week, we offer students the chance to express themselves creatively, whether through drawing, painting, or crafting. Art can be a powerful outlet for students to process and manage their emotions. We also held a \"positive affirmations\" mirror activity where the student's utilized the positive statement cards that were donated to express to themselves in the mirror. While this may seem small to us, for them it was huge! Our student's are found daily to be talking negativity towards themselves and this really showed them how easy positive self talk can be. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the sensory strips have been a daily resource that has made a huge difference in students' ability to self-regulate. These strips provide tactile input that helps students manage their stress during difficult moments. Many students have started to use them regularly, not just during Wellness Wednesday sessions but throughout the school day. The headsets you donated have also been incredibly helpful in enhancing our reach to so many student's. With some of our events now gathering up to 90 student's, the headsets are essential in maintaining a peaceful and organized environment. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue building on the foundation we've set during Wellness Wednesday. We have enough supplies to continue this project on in second semester! Which our kiddos and staff could not be more excited for. \r\n\r\nThe resources you've provided are creating a lasting impact, and we are excited to continue using them to support our students' emotional and mental well-being. Your contribution has helped us create a space where students feel empowered to take care of themselves and each other, and we look forward to seeing the continued positive effects in the months ahead.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your kindness and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1727110476201,"projectUrl":"project/wellness-wednesday-lunch-activities/8712040/","projectTitle":"Wellness Wednesday Lunch Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Delaney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9712131"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91619","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":653,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":76,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.4,"schoolId":91619,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Orangeview Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Orangeview Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/anaheim-union-high-school-district/orangeview-junior-high-school/91619"}
