While reading What If Everybody Did That?, we discussed how breaking rules can affect our classroom community and why it's important to follow school and classroom expectations. During our read-aloud of Juice Box Bully, we talked about bullying and how students can stand up for one another and help when they see someone being treated unkindly. These books opened the door to meaningful conversations and helped students reflect on their actions.\r\n\r\nStudents used the Unifix cubes to understand place value and multiplication. They were able to see how ten ones make one ten, which helped them visualize how many hundreds, tens, and ones are in a number. The cubes made abstract concepts more concrete and supported their overall understanding of math. Students also used the Unifix cubes for multiplication to create equal groups and arrays, allowing them to visually see and count the total. This hands-on practice made multiplication more understandable and engaging.\r\n\r\nWe practice math every day using the individual whiteboards to check for understanding. Students use the dry-erase markers and erasers to show their math work, and they truly enjoy this daily routine. The whiteboards have also been especially helpful when learning multiplication and division, allowing students to draw equal groups and arrays to better understand the concepts.
