Your generosity provided our team with upgraded wiring components and a CNC mill, and both have made a real difference in how our students learn and work.\r\n\r\nIn robotics, technology isn't just something students use—it's something they build, test, and truly understand. The wiring and power connectors have helped students see firsthand how electrical systems function in a real machine. They've learned how to create safe, reliable connections and how small mistakes can impact an entire system. This has turned abstract concepts into hands-on learning that sticks.\r\n\r\nThe CNC mill has been the most exciting addition for many of our students. Instead of only designing parts on a computer, they now get to manufacture them with precision. Watching a design they created become a real, usable part has been incredibly motivating. It has also introduced them to modern manufacturing skills that are used in engineering and industry every day.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously unsure of their role on the team have really found their place through this new equipment. Some have become highly engaged in electrical work, taking ownership of wiring systems and leading others in best practices. Being able to see their CAD designs come to life has helped students learn better design practices and lead to great discussions. These students are not only building skills, but also confidence.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our students are doing more than building a robot—they are gaining real-world experience in engineering, collaboration, and problem-solving. This impact can be seen at every competition we attend. Our students were more confident and more succesful than ever before! Thanks to the generous donations from our Donors Choose supporters, we were able to obtain all of our metal needs for the coming season. This opened up our current fundraising to allow us to make some much needed equipment upgrades and we are excited to announce that Mechanically Challenged is making the jump to SWERVE DRIVE! \r\nOur coding team has been working tirelessly throughout Summer Break to get the code working while wiring and engineering have built and wired the swerve and our CAD team has worked to retrofit the 2025 robot onto the swerve drive. We were excited to have enough materials to be able to prototype, build, and repair the damage from our last event in April :)\r\nWe hosted a successful free summer camp with elementary kids and used some of the metal to make it the best camp ever! With almost double the attendance, the kids had a blast and we are hoping to grow even more next summer.\r\nThank you again for all you do.
