The excitement built as they realized these were tools and supplies to help them in their art journey- many going on to say they are going to ask for a figure mannequin for Christmas next year. \r\n\r\nThose mannequins have helped my students capture proportions and gain much more confidence in their ability to draw the human figure- confidence they have taken with them as we have continued exploring other aspects of art! The mirrors helped them to better grasp their own features clearly, elevating their self-portraits and helping them zoom in on the facial features of a figure. Not only that, but the students each getting their own graphite pencils to use for the project made them that much more invested. The paper was used to help us create projects combining their new found confidence in figure drawing with some abstract choices in background and color. \r\n\r\nDue to some inclement weather and other interruptions in our schedule, our project went over a little, but the students remained enthusiastic. The younger students would see their work and become excited to do that project when they take the next art. As an art teacher, building enthusiasm for art as well as confidence in drawing figures has been a wonderful thing to see in my students!","fullyFundedDate":1762799441810,"projectUrl":"project/building-confidence-through-figure-drawi/9881116/","projectTitle":"Building Confidence Through Figure Drawing","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maxey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7239706_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762478738844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7239706"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_52367","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":273,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":86,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":44.4,"schoolId":52367,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Spring Hill High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Spring Hill High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/spring-hill-school-district/spring-hill-high-school/52367"}
