Originally this project was for a new xylophone for our classroom, but unfortunately the xylophone I requested was out of stock so I had to substitute some materials. Let me tell you, I think my students are even more excited about the unplanned materials than they were about the xylophones! \r\n We were able to get a full class set of hoops and a full class set of playground balls to try out some new music education ideas I've been seeing floating around on the internet - students doing group steady beat jump routines to music with the hoops and then bounce ball routines with the playground balls. We are so excited to get started! We were also able to get some more xylophone mallets so my students can double up on the xylophones that we do have so more students can play at one time, which they are very excited about. \r\n Our next steps are getting our new playground balls all inflated so we can get to working on our first bounce ball routine! Thank you once again for your support of music education and my wonderful students in rural Arkansas.","fullyFundedDate":1752586440580,"projectUrl":"project/x-is-for-xylophone/9300762/","projectTitle":"X is for Xylophone!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reeves","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2317170_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532212878950","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rachel-hagar"},{"teacherId":1747365,"projectId":9149045,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in funding our classroom project! Because of your kindness, we were able to purchase LEGO sets, Post-it paper, and markers that truly brought learning to life for my students. These materials weren't just supplies—they became tools for creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nUsing the LEGOs, students designed and built their own toy prototypes, then took on the roles of engineers, marketers, and business owners. They calculated production costs, created eye-catching ads with the Post-its and markers, and even filmed commercials to pitch their product ideas. This hands-on project not only reinforced math. economic and writing skills but also gave students a chance to shine in ways that traditional lessons often can't. Your donation made this possible, and the excitement and pride on their faces was absolutely priceless.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom and in the potential of every student.","fullyFundedDate":1743189947822,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-young-entrepreneurs-through-to/9149045/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs Through Toy Design!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Casey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1747365_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1544551626624","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1747365"},{"teacherId":2317170,"projectId":8597914,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your very generous donation for our music classroom. We have been playing the new ukuleles every day and my students are so excited to not have to share an instrument. Having their own ukulele to play the entire class period has been absolutely invaluable to their learning and has been extremely helpful in managing behaviors. \r\n We have currently learned 3 different chords and are working on adding our first two finger chord. The students have been so excited to be able to play songs that they enjoy and listen to on the radio. This week we learned \"Ho Hey\" by the Lumineers and it was such a joy to watch and listen to each student (with their own ukulele) sing and play along with the song just grinning ear to ear. \r\n Thank you so much for helping us to get these ukuleles and please know they will be put to good use for many years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1733236904059,"projectUrl":"project/uke-can-do-it/8597914/","projectTitle":"Uke Can Do It!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reeves","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2317170_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532212878950","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rachel-hagar"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_53655","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":249,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":23,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"4 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":63.5,"schoolId":53655,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ozark Upper Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ozark Upper Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/ozark-public-schools/ozark-upper-elementary-school/53655"}
