The Bob Books have been a great practical tool for our new readers. A few of my students are using their beginning reader skills to attempt to decode words in these books, and showing so much pride when they are able to! \r\n\r\nThe real stars of our library right now, though, are the Mo Willems Pigeon books. My students absolutely love the humor and the way the Pigeon talks directly to them. It's turned our reading time into an interactive experience where kids are laughing and shouting \"No!\" at the bird's antics. Beyond just the mechanics of reading, these books are helping them understand things like persuasion and character voice, which makes the stories feel alive to them.\r\n\r\nThe energy in our reading nook has completely shifted since these arrived. I have a few students who used to be hesitant to pick up a book, but now they are the first ones rushing to find the Pigeon books as soon as they go to zones. Having these materials has made reading feel less like a chore and more like a reward for them. Thank you for giving my students a reason to be so excited about books.","fullyFundedDate":1765472728237,"projectUrl":"project/we-love-to-read/9876327/","projectTitle":"We Love to Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Terra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3115136_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y355&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1677282277352","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3115136"},{"teacherId":10088251,"projectId":9489312,"letterContent":"The new rug provided by your organization has given my students a comfortable and spacious area where they can learn and grow. Our classroom rug is the MOST important area in our room. All of our daily instruction happens on the rug, and we often conduct experiments there as well. For example, we recently planted our classroom plant while gathered on the rug. We also play games, participate in\r\ngroup activities, listen to stories, and watch movies during inside recess while sitting together on the carpet. We even have JAM time on our new rug—the students love dancing and singing in our classroom!\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when they first saw the new rug. They immediately wanted to know where it came from and were thrilled to write thank-you letters to our donor.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students will be to continue learning, collaborating, and creating meaningful experiences on our beautiful rug. For many students, this is their very first time using a wheel, and they are already showing incredible focus and excitement. What began with a little hesitation quickly turned into confidence as they discovered they could shape bowls, cups, and imaginative forms with their own hands.\r\n\r\nThe pottery wheels have given students more than just a new art skill—they've encouraged patience, persistence, and pride in their work. Some who often struggle to stay engaged are now fully absorbed at the wheel, motivated by the joy of creating something unique. Watching their concentration and the pride on their faces when they finish a piece has been inspiring.\r\n\r\nYour support made this possible. You didn't just provide materials—you opened the door for our students to explore creativity in a hands-on, meaningful way. From the moment we unpacked the rollers, stamps, and printing tools, curiosity took over—their little hands couldn't wait to test out the different surfaces and see what marks they would make on the paper.\r\n\r\nIn creating their individual art prints, the excitement on their faces as they saw the designs and layers come together was magical! For many of my students, this was their first time experimenting with printmaking, and they were amazed at how the same tool could create such different effects depending on how they pressed or rolled it.\r\n\r\nGoing forward, these resources will continue to play a huge role in our process art lessons. We're planning a series of projects where students will use the printmaking tools to illustrate stories they're writing, adding texture and visual interest to their pages. The skills they're building now—exploring cause and effect, noticing details, and making creative choices—are laying the foundation for both artistic expression and critical thinking. Your support has not only given them tools but also opened up a whole new way for them to see themselves as artists.","fullyFundedDate":1757350931301,"projectUrl":"project/tiny-printmakers-sensory-printing-and-t/9529110/","projectTitle":"Tiny Printmakers: Sensory Printing and Texture Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Terra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3115136_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y355&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1677282277352","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3115136"},{"teacherId":8661537,"projectId":9252592,"letterContent":"Thank you for funding my project!
