This grant fulfillment came at a wonderful time because our school made a policy change that affected many of our students. Due to a variety of reasons, our school decided to get rid of our \"second-chance breakfast\" program. Your snacks fulfilled the gap that this change created. \r\nMy philosophy in the short time that I have been teaching is \"Hungry Kids Don't Learn\". As I teach Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in my class, I teach students that the bottom step has to be met before the top steps can be met. On that bottom step, food is the first thing listed. A student who has a brain deprived of carbs and is hungry is not going to retain the information I teach. Having food in my classroom changes learning and you created a wonderful learning environment!\r\nSo I want to say a huge THANK YOU! You made a difference in my students learning! You played a part in increasing test scores and just making some students' faces light up at the sight of food. I appreciate your willingness to provide for my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1733163823407,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-and-wellness/8506077/","projectTitle":"Snacks and Wellness","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Holmes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9598547_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723130574640","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsholmesb12"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47824","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":625,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":55,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"8 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":"25.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":47824,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mountain Home Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mountain Home Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/mountain-home-school-district-9/mountain-home-junior-high-school/47824"}
