It gives students who do not always have the opportunity to read a chance to read. It also gives them something to do when they finish early. Percy Jackson has been one of my most requested book series. Students so far have really seemed to enjoy it. \r\n\r\nI also have been reading through one of the Percy Jackson books with my homeroom. Specifically, this group of kids don't like to read. However, they have loved reading the lightning thief. The Harry Potter books have also been a hit. Overall, I am very greatful to receive these books. As a new teacher, getting resources can be pretty difficult. Being a middle school librarian, I see a lot of reluctance to reading but these students jumped in head first and are requesting more books in this series. They love that we've made reading a social activity. \r\n\r\nI've seen students reading that haven't been an avid reader since they were small children. I love the impact the book club is having on our students. Your donation of our first book got the momentum going.
