For many of my students, this was not just a school field trip—it was their very first time traveling outside our local community, flying on an airplane, and seeing iconic historical landmarks in person.\r\n\r\nThe trip was a resounding success from start to finish. Watching the students' eyes light up as they stood in the exact locations we had spent months studying was a feeling I will never forget. One of the absolute highlights of the trip occurred when we visited major historical sites and primary source archives. As we walked through these historic grounds, students began making spontaneous, deep connections to our AP History curriculum. They were actively discussing the political, social, and economic factors behind the events that transpired right where they were standing. One student mentioned that seeing these monuments in real life made history feel real and human rather than just abstract text in a textbook.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this trip did not end when our bus returned to campus. The momentum and enthusiasm generated during our travel have completely transformed the energy in our classroom. Since returning, my students have demonstrated a noticeably higher level of engagement, critical thinking, and confidence in their coursework. They frequently reference their real-world experiences during class discussions, helping bring historical concepts to life for their peers. Furthermore, this experience has expanded their global perspective and inspired many of them to pursue higher education, study abroad programs, and future travel opportunities they had never previously considered possible.\r\n\r\nYour investment in our classroom provided an invaluable learning experience that my students will carry with them for the rest of their lives. You did not just fund a trip; you opened doors of opportunity, sparked lifelong curiosity, and showed my students that there is a whole community of supporters invested in their education and future success.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of all my students and our entire school community, thank you again for your kindness, belief in our vision, and support of public education.","fullyFundedDate":1489168340977,"projectUrl":"project/presenting-the-2017-ap-history-ef-trip/2452432/","projectTitle":"Presenting: The 2017 AP History EF Trip!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McDaniel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2417499_orig.jpg?crop=883,883,x860,y207&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1631725209053","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2417499"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54306","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":338,"numTeachers":106,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":54,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"3.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":76.5,"schoolId":54306,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Little Rock Hall-West School of Innovation on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Little Rock Hall-West School of Innovation","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/little-rock-school-district/hall-high-school/54306"}
