I was delighted to learn that Lincoln Logs was one of my kindergarten teacher's favorites. The light boards will be utilized in the Media Center and for science centers in the classroom. Essential items for the Media Center are different from a regular classroom, but masking tape is just as important as a pencil. My first grade students used masking tape to design mazes for the coding mice. Children have crafted astonishing castles and towers using plastic cups. Tangrams have multiple skill-building opportunities for all ages. My students are looking at the tangram pattern and then finding the blocks they need to complete their picture. I couldn't believe how excited the students were about designing their own creations on the geoboards. These tools are the springboard to their creativity.
