Not only were we able to meet academic standards through this book study, but we also were able to compare and contrast the book to the movie- students loved this idea! \r\n\r\nSome of the standards that we were able to work on were compare and contrast, character analysis, and summary. Students were able to compare and contrast the following ideas throughout the book: characters and their actions, and the book to the movie. Students were able to identify internal and external conflicts for the characters throughout the book which gave them a deeper understanding of how characters develop. Students always have difficulty with writing summaries, however with this book study they were able to write summaries for each chapter as well as a novel summary! It was truly amazing to see them dive into the book and enjoy learning while doing it!","fullyFundedDate":1767209324813,"projectUrl":"project/opening-worlds-one-book-at-a-time/9961681/","projectTitle":"Opening Worlds - One Book at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rosenberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10385870"},{"teacherId":9018329,"projectId":7364800,"letterContent":"I just wanted to share how much of a difference the donated seat sacks have made in my classroom!
