Your investment has made a meaningful and lasting impact on our third-grade students and their learning experience.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students now have access to a hands-on hydroponic growing system that transforms science instruction into an engaging, real-world experience. Students are actively exploring how environmental factors influence plant growth, collecting data, making evidence-based claims, and learning how innovative solutions like hydroponics can address environmental and food-access challenges.\r\n\r\nThis project also strengthens our participation in the Arkansas Farm to School Program, reinforcing lessons about healthy eating, agriculture, and sustainability. We have tasted Kale, Buttercrunch lettuce, Radishes and Brussel Sprouts. More importantly, it allows every student—regardless of background or access to outdoor space—to participate in meaningful, equitable STEM learning.\r\n\r\nYour support goes beyond funding equipment; it nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. On behalf of my students, their families, and the Ellen Smith Elementary community, thank you for believing in this project and for helping us grow minds along with plants.","fullyFundedDate":1758808413701,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-cultivating-curiosity-thr/9722960/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds: Cultivating Curiosity Through a Classroom Hydroponic Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Clevinger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1502602"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_51620","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":480,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":28,"percentWhite":40,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"17.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":61.5,"schoolId":51620,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ellen Smith Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ellen Smith Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/conway-public-schools/ellen-smith-elementary-school/51620"}
