Something as simple as colorful paper has made a big impact in our room.\r\n\r\nWe use the Astrobrights paper for anchor charts, interactive notebooks, science foldables, and classroom projects. The bright colors help important information stand out, which has been especially helpful when students are organizing science concepts. Recently, we used the paper to create foldable study guides for our genetics and heredity unit. Each section of the foldable was a different color, helping students separate vocabulary, Punnett squares, and key concepts. The colors made it easier for them to study and quickly find information when reviewing.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the stack of bright paper, they were immediately excited. Middle schoolers love anything that feels a little different from the usual white worksheets! Many of them commented on how the colors made their work look more fun and creative, and several students took extra care in their projects because they were proud of how they looked.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are using the Astrobrights paper for review materials and interactive activities as we move through our science units. Students are creating colorful study guides, diagrams, and group posters that help them visualize and organize what they are learning. These simple resources make lessons more engaging and help students take ownership of their work.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our classroom a more creative, organized, and engaging place to learn. Because of your generosity, my students now have flexible seating options that have completely changed the way our classroom feels and functions.\r\n\r\nWe use the new seating every single day. During independent work, small group activities, and even science labs, students can choose a spot that helps them focus best—whether that's a wobble stool, floor seat, or flexible chair. One moment that really stood out to me happened during a recent science activity where students were working in small groups to design ways humans can reduce environmental impact. Instead of being stuck at desks, they spread out across the room in their chosen seating and collaborated so naturally. The conversations were thoughtful, and students who usually struggle to stay focused were fully engaged.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first walked in and saw the new seating, their excitement was contagious. There were lots of wide eyes, huge smiles, and more than a few \"This is the best classroom ever!\" comments. It immediately made our room feel more comfortable and welcoming, like a space that truly belongs to them.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are continuing to use these seating options while working through hands-on science lessons and collaborative projects. Flexible seating has made it easier for students to move into groups, discuss ideas, and stay focused during longer activities. As we head into our next units, students will be using these spaces to work together on investigations, problem-solving tasks, and creative science projects.\r\nYour support has helped create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, engaged, and ready to learn.
