My students were so excited when the boxes arrived and we were able to unpack them. They were honestly a little impatient because we had to wait a few days to begin using our materials due to the theater being in use.\r\n\r\nOnce we had the space, we immediately began using our items to build final set pieces, props, and costumes for our fall musical, Alice in Wonderland Jr. Following the musical, my classes were able to use them to design our spring play, 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse. They built signs, altered and distressed costumes, and created a complete apocalyptic world for our show.\r\n\r\nAs we move past production season and into planning for growing our program numbers and designing shows for next year, I am excited for students to use the materials and skills to empower them on and off stage while also helping grow our program.
