We are currently using the canvas boards for a painting project where students are learning the historical painting technique of grisaille underpainting, followed by color glazing. This process helps students understand value, form, and color layering in a hands-on way, and the canvas boards have been essential in making this lesson feel authentic and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the canvas boards, they were thrilled. Many of my Art I students had never painted on canvas before, so this was a brand-new experience for them. Painting on canvas instead of paper immediately made them feel like real artists, and I saw an increase in excitement, confidence, and care in their work. Students were eager to start painting and took pride in their finished pieces.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be using the soft cut blocks to explore printmaking, where students will design and create their own stamps. This will allow them to experiment with pattern, repetition, and craftsmanship while learning a completely new art process. Because of your generosity, my students are gaining access to materials and experiences that inspire creativity and deepen their understanding of art. This high volume of usage is great for our students' literacy but it's a strain on our library's collection! Because of your help we was able to buy more in-demand books and popular manga series to fuel out students' literacy! \r\n\r\nStudents responded with immediate excitement when they saw all the new books come in! Especially when they saw we FINALLY got the entire Frieren series which had been requested by students for over a year.\r\n\r\nThis is ALL thanks to your generosity.
