The resources you helped fund are giving them exactly that. Painting seems to have become left in preschool and when kindergarten comes, it's all work! I wanted my students to have time and materials to explore their creativity as well as express themselves and watercolor is such a great medium for that! Liquid watercolors and proper watercolor paper are luxuries so this project allowed me to purchase these things for my kids and the rewards are endless! They love to \"free\" paint, but we also use the watercolors for lots of process art using crayons, salt, plastic wrap and other materials to see the results or the \"magic\". Your donation has made a meaningful and lasting difference for our youngest learners and has brought joy, curiosity, and excitement to their earliest experiences with reading.\r\nBefore these books arrived, many of our classroom shelves held older titles that were worn from years of use. While our preschoolers still loved storytime, the selection was limited, and many books did not reflect the diversity of our students or their wide range of interests. We dreamed of giving our children bright, engaging, age-appropriate stories that would spark their imaginations and help them begin their reading journeys. Thanks to you, that dream came true.\r\nThe moment the boxes of books arrived was magical. Little hands eagerly helped open them, eyes widening at the colorful covers and playful illustrations. Students immediately began flipping through the pages, pointing to animals, shapes, and characters that caught their attention. They proudly carried books to their friends and teachers, saying, \"Read this one to me!\" and \"This is my favorite already!\" It was clear that these new stories were going to make a big impact.\r\nThe variety of books you helped provide has been especially important for our preschoolers. We now have picture books that celebrate different cultures, rhyming stories that build language skills, interactive books that invite participation, and early nonfiction titles that feed their curiosity about the world. Our students see characters who look like them, families that feel like theirs, and adventures that stretch their imaginations far beyond the classroom.\r\nThese books have quickly become an essential part of our daily routines. During morning circle time, we read aloud from our new collection, encouraging children to predict what will happen next or share connections to their own lives. In our quiet reading corners, students choose books independently, building confidence in their ability to engage with stories. Teachers have noticed that children are staying engaged longer during reading time, asking thoughtful questions, and using new vocabulary they've learned from the stories.\r\nPerhaps the most touching impact is how these books have strengthened the bond between students and teachers. Storytime has become a cherished moment of connection—a time when children feel safe, valued, and loved while learning. One child who was shy at the start of the year now runs to grab a book and sits right up front during read-alouds, eager to participate. Another student, who was just beginning to learn English, has started repeating words from the stories and using them in everyday play.\r\nYour generosity has done more than refresh our shelves—it has planted the seeds of a lifelong love for reading. These books are helping our preschoolers develop the language, imagination, and curiosity that will prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. You have given them stories to cherish, characters to love, and a foundation for future learning.\r\nOn behalf of our preschoolers, teachers, and families, thank you for believing in the power of books and the potential of every child.","fullyFundedDate":1733781316716,"projectUrl":"project/book-boost/8668846/","projectTitle":"Book Boost!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Haywood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8111942_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1646761727398","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8111942"},{"teacherId":8652119,"projectId":8553596,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous gift to Tully Elementary's \"Soil Detectives: Investigating Soil\" unit!
