Their faces lit up with excitement as they explored the different textures and movements of each toy. Many of my students gravitated toward the sensory items right away, using them during our morning meeting and independent work time. I noticed that the toys quickly became a tool for self-regulation—students who might normally feel restless or anxious were able to stay calm and focused with the help of these resources. One memorable moment was during a group reading activity, when a student who often struggles to sit still held a fidget toy and was able to participate for the entire session without interruption.\r\n\r\nWe are now incorporating the calming toys into our daily routines and using them intentionally during transitions and quiet work time. My students are learning that these tools are not just for play, but for helping them manage their emotions and stay engaged in learning. The next step for our class is to practice using the toys alongside breathing strategies and mindfulness techniques, so students can build a toolbox of calming strategies they can carry with them beyond the classroom. These resources have already made such a positive impact, and we are excited to continue exploring new ways to help every student feel safe, focused, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1749130732646,"projectUrl":"project/kind-thoughts-make-a-happy-heart/9379903/","projectTitle":"Kind Thoughts Make a Happy Heart","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chavez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043555"},{"teacherId":8368180,"projectId":8652021,"letterContent":"Thank you for going out of your way to help our students get paper, it meant so much and truly brightened our day in our Kindergarten Grade level.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the paper resources you have sent to us and it has made a great impact on our students.
