My students love to learn! The value of listening stations in our classroom is powerful tool for vocabulary, fluency, and allows them to read higher leveled books. Our school serves at risk kids and low income students which means that we are a Title I school. Our school has about 710 students. In my classroom I teach English Language Learners which means many of these students are learning how to read, write, and speak English. My students need to be able to read fluently by the time they exit fourth grade. In my classroom, I teach 33 students and when they enter my classroom some of them are at risk kids who need a lot of academic interventions. Many of my kids are eager to learn how to read and can't wait to get their hands on books on tape or simply log into bookflix to be able to listen to a story being read aloud to them.
