One of the most impactful additions has been the bookshelves for our theatre library. We recently launched a \"Script Exploration Week,\" where students were encouraged to browse the collection, choose a script that spoke to them, and then present a dramatic reading to the class. Watching students sit comfortably in an organized space, fully engaged with a piece of theatre literature, was truly inspiring. The cubbies and storage bins have also allowed us to streamline transitions between activities, saving precious instructional time and reducing distractions.\r\n\r\nTheir reactions were priceless! Students walked in wide-eyed and full of curiosity, immediately noticing how much more open and welcoming the classroom felt. One student said, \"It looks like a real theatre classroom now!\" Another was thrilled to have a personal cubby, saying, \"I finally have a spot for my stuff!\" Their excitement turned into care—they began taking more ownership of the space and became more respectful of the classroom and materials.\r\n\r\nWe're currently preparing for our fall production, and the new locking cabinets are already playing a huge role in helping us stay organized. Students are using the secure storage to catalog props and costume pieces, learning both responsibility and organization—essential skills for theatre production. In addition, the theatre library is now part of our weekly routine: students choose a new play or monologue to analyze, building both literacy and performance skills. These new resources are not only supporting our projects but also shaping long-term habits of creativity, discipline, and teamwork.","fullyFundedDate":1738359127080,"projectUrl":"project/theatre-library-and-classroom-furniture/9089498/","projectTitle":"Theatre Library and Classroom Furniture","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Rollins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8373593_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y153&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1647290925902","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8373593"},{"teacherId":9934737,"projectId":9139370,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping me with supplies to support my students. The office snacks for my counseling office have supported our students in our Exceptional Student Services Department, students with IEPs, in a school where our poverty rate is at 87.5%. Our students are always appreciative of having the ability to get snacks while on campus, but they were exceptionally happy and thankful for such a big variety of snacks, including Twizzlers, nuts, granola bars, Cheez- Itz, fruit snacks, and more. It is incredible to say this, but we have already gone through a quarter of the snacks! You have already helped fill many hungry bellies with your donation so far, and with that, I have immense gratitude for your generosity. \r\n\r\nOne may think that having snacks available to students may disrupt the learning environment, or counseling setting, but really, it has helped me stay connected to more students than without.
