This resource has made a meaningful and immediate impact on our students, particularly those who benefit from additional communication support.\r\n\r\nThe playground communication board will transform how our students will interact during recess and outdoor activities. For many of them, unstructured time can be the most challenging part of the day. With the board in place, students now have access to visual language that empowers them to express their needs, initiate play, and engage with peers more confidently. I have already seen an increase in student interactions, cooperative play, and overall inclusion.\r\n\r\nStudents who previously struggled to communicate will now be able to independently point to symbols to ask to join a game, request turns, or share their feelings. This will reduce frustration and foster a greater sense of belonging and community among all students. Their peers will also be learning to be more patient, understanding, and inclusive communicators.\r\n\r\nThis gift goes far beyond a single tool—it has created opportunities for connection, confidence, and joy. This coming week we will be using them to help organize our centers. I took some photos to share what the students will see. I also have plans to use these cones to create several smaller-sized nets to play so many different games. Every time I use these cones I feel so grateful for the generosity of everyone who donated!
