Instead of simply reading about chemical reactions and scientific concepts, students are now actively engaging in hands-on experiments using the new chemistry kits. One of our first activities involved exploring chemical reactions, where students mixed safe substances, observed changes, and recorded their findings. Watching their faces light up as they saw bubbling reactions and color changes in real time was an unforgettable moment. These resources have made learning more interactive and meaningful, allowing students to connect abstract concepts to real-world applications.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were incredibly excited and eager to begin. Many of them immediately started asking questions and making predictions about what they would be able to do. Their enthusiasm was contagious—students who are usually quiet became more involved, collaborating with their peers and sharing ideas. It was clear that having access to these hands-on tools sparked a new level of curiosity and engagement in the classroom. They felt like real scientists, which boosted both their confidence and interest in learning.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to build on this momentum by using the kits to deepen our understanding of key chemistry concepts such as the scientific method, properties of matter, and the periodic table. Students will be designing their own simple experiments, analyzing results, and presenting their findings to the class. These next steps will not only strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills but also encourage independence and creativity. Thanks to your support, my students are developing a genuine love for science and gaining experiences that will stay with them far beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1776084121608,"projectUrl":"project/ignite-curiosity-hands-on-chemistry-kit/9992629/","projectTitle":"Ignite Curiosity: Hands-On Chemistry Kits for Future Scientists!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Joshua Sebastian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6331902_orig.jpg?crop=1417,1417,x0,y155&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1681341640624","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/biochemphyess"},{"teacherId":9703977,"projectId":9829972,"letterContent":"I am excited to share my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our project, \"Building Future Innovators: Navajo Students Coding.\" Because of your kindness, my students were given an incredible opportunity to explore technology in meaningful, hands-on, and inspiring ways.\r\nThrough this experience, students journeyed from coding with Micro:bit to programming Sphero Mini robots—an achievement that truly energized our classroom. During the Micro:bit Challenge, students designed and created warning signals for disasters, helping them connect coding to real-world applications such as safety and emergency preparedness.\r\nIn the Sphero Challenge, students took their learning even further by connecting coding with Earth and Space Science concepts like solar radiation and absorption. They programmed their Sphero Minis to avoid edges and obstacles while showcasing creativity and innovation in designing unique robot behaviors. Watching them combine science and coding with confidence and excitement was truly inspiring.\r\nOur Navajo students embraced these activities with enthusiasm, curiosity, and determination. Their engagement was remarkable, and many were recognized for outstanding participation in our Earth and Space class alternative activity. It was a proud moment for our classroom community.\r\nEven more exciting is the impact beyond the classroom. Many of my female students, in particular, have gained confidence and motivation in coding. Several are now eager to join the Summer Quest for Quantum Computing Camp at Central Arizona College in Coolidge—an incredible step toward expanding their opportunities in technology and higher education.\r\nYour support has done more than provide materials ( SPHERO MINI ROBOTS)—it has opened doors. You have helped our students begin to see themselves as future innovators in Computer Science, STEAM, and CTE pathways. We are hopeful that this experience will spark lifelong interests and guide them toward bright and successful futures.\r\nThank you once again for believing in our students and investing in their dreams.
