These general art materials will go a long way in giving students who enter the junior/senior high school a starting place. We often run out of basic needs materials like pencils, rulers, sharpeners, glue and erasers, (the good white ones not the nasty pink ones). This order gives us a back up supply as well as a few bonus items like ceramics and lino print making materials.\r\n\r\nI wanted to reach out and say thank you to the Fiesta Sports Foundation for all of your support in creating a a foundation to fund art projects project with my Hualapai students. Ceramics making can be an expensive and messy lesson as clay and tools are not cheap.\r\n\r\nNone of my students have done a ceramics of any kind. We will start with a simple coil pots, to \"cut their teeth\" on, a small and fairly simple project. We will then move on with different lessons depending grade levels to building with slabs and possibly sculpture. Not going to use glazes yet as this is one step at a time lesson building. Seventh & eighth grade started their second lino cut with a 4\" x 5\", while the 9th-10th grade made a 7\" x 5\", 10th grade got a 9\" x 6\" lino block, and finally 11th - 12th got a 9\" x 6\" or a 8\" x 10\" lino block, student's choice. Many of the students are still working but We do have some real \"go-get-ers\" who have done a 3rd project or have moved on to their Tribal Brochure project.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous support of my class and the students of the Hualapai Tribe.
