What may seem like a simple material has become a powerful tool for creativity, problem-solving, and artistic growth in our classroom. \r\n\r\nStudents used the wire in a wide variety of art projects. They used wire to create an armature for their large paper mache animal sculptures. Students learned how to build strong internal structures before adding layers of paper mache. They twisted and shaped wire into legs, antlers, tails, and wings. They explored balance, stability, and engineering in ways that were both playful and purposeful. \r\nWire also allowed us to experiment with movement and gesture. Inspired by the artwork of Alberto Giacometti, students created expressive wire and foil sculptures that captured motion-running, jumping, and stretching, using only line and form. \r\nIn addition, students created single line contour wire sculptures, carefully bending and twisting one continuous piece of wire into faces and abstract forms. \r\n\r\nYour donation has provided structure for imagination, movement for ideas, and strength for artistic expression.
