To us it has meant the world! \r\n Last year our rural school began to build up its K-3rd grade foundational literacy program. Recognizing that new strategies and tools were needed to better support students, the team has taken on a large variety of things to make initial and powerful steps for change. These include teacher training, coaching, a new phonics program, and new intervention supports for students.\r\n In our first year we started with 30 licenses to our Read Live program. This computer-based program supports and challenges students in the area of phonics decoding as well as fluency, accuracy, and comprehension. It allows teachers to interact with and support students while also having many students getting instruction and reading materials at their current levels. Read Live rooms are amazing...and loud! :) Students are reading and re-reading. They are talking to teachers and paraprofessionals about what they read. It's all a part of the process. Headphones make is easier for students to hear their read-along portions of stories and practice with less distraction.\r\n During the 2024-25 school year headphones were hard to come by. Very few of our students are able to afford them and our stash was small. Our initial Read Live 30 licenses grew to over 100. Headphones, or the lack thereof, seemed to be an almost daily frustration for students and teachers.\r\n Thanks to your generous donation, we are already ending our first cycle of intervention groups and headphone problems have been a non-issue! We have enough for every student who enters a room and we haven't had ANY broken headphones to date! Not only are students able to hear and practice better, the supporting staff members can get to more students without having to stop to address the \"I don't have headphones\" or \"\"These headphones broke\" every few minutes. We now have over 150 students licensed and using Read Live daily with ease.\r\n Thank you for the gift of headphones, which is truly an investment into the gift of literacy for our students. We are extremely grateful to you as we help our students SOAR!
