Because of your kindness, I was able to start the school year with valuable resources that are already making a difference.\r\n\r\nThe hands-on, differentiated materials you helped fund have made learning more engaging and accessible for all my students. These tools support a variety of learning styles and help me create lessons that are both fun and effective. My students are excited to explore, collaborate, and grow each day, and that excitement is a direct result of the opportunities you've helped provide.\r\n\r\nIn addition to learning materials, I also received tools that help me track student progress more effectively. This has been incredibly helpful as I prepare for parent-teacher conferences and plan instruction. With this data, I can better understand each student's needs and tailor support to help them succeed. Your support is helping me build a classroom where every child feels seen and supported.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our learning journey. It is our fourth week of school, and my students love our new flexible seating in our room. They enjoy sitting in our library area the most, and tell me all the time how comfortable the chairs are. We have also started to use our new mail box system and it helps us stay so much more organized! The class has just been \"hired\" for their jobs and our \"mail carrier\" has the task to organize and send out our school flyers and put them into our mail boxes. All of the items donated make our space so comforting and fun, giving my students options of where they'd like to work. We've especially loved using it during our phonics and reading lessons. With the help of the Hand2Mind materials, students are more engaged than ever. They can physically move letters around, and the clear, colorful visuals help them easily see where their vowels and consonants belong on the board. It's made phonics feel more like a puzzle to solve, and they're having a blast while learning!\r\nTheir eyes lit up when they saw the whiteboard! They were excited to have something they could physically interact with — it didn't take long before they started drawing diagrams, solving math problems, and even creating their own mini-lessons to share with classmates. One student said, \"This makes learning way more fun,\" which truly summed up the whole moment.\r\nRight now, we're continuing our work with phonics—building words, identifying sound patterns, and practicing fluency. The whiteboard and Hand2Mind tools are being used daily in small groups, where students are constructing words and breaking them apart with ease. As we move forward, we'll be incorporating this same interactive approach into our writing lessons, helping students apply what they've learned in their own stories and sentences.\r\nI am so incredibly grateful for all the resources that were donated. I truly love using all of the supplies, and they're making such a difference for my students. I continue to receive more students who are qualifying for support, which increases our need for even more materials. Your generosity has come at just the right time, and I can't thank you enough for helping me meet my students' growing needs. Your support has made such a positive impact, and I'm excited to share how our students have been benefiting from the new materials.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the games, my students have truly embraced the opportunity to work together. They've started collaborating in creative ways, thinking of strategies to be successful in the games while fostering teamwork. It has been inspiring to see students who usually prefer working alone, like the quieter ones, feel comfortable participating. One of the most memorable moments was when these students discovered a game they could enjoy on their own. It was such a quiet, peaceful experience as they sat together, yet apart, each immersed in their own game but still part of the group's energy.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room when the students first saw the materials was contagious! They were eager to dive in, and honestly, they didn't even know where to start. The enthusiasm was so high that they wanted to play every game right then and there. It was clear how much they appreciated the chance to explore and try something new.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the students have been learning valuable lessons beyond the games themselves. They've learned the importance of patience and how to collaborate with others in order to achieve a shared goal. They've come to understand that success isn't just about winning, but about having fun and learning along the way. Some students, in particular, have discovered the power of strategy and how careful thought can make a difference—it's not just about guessing but making informed choices.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only enhanced their learning experiences but has also brought them closer as a community. Moving forward, they will continue to develop their problem-solving and communication skills, while enjoying every moment of the process.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity. Your contribution has had such a meaningful impact, and we are all so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1733236889993,"projectUrl":"project/a-soft-start-an-organized-classroom-am/8957714/","projectTitle":"A Soft Start, an Organized Classroom, Amazing Science With Rewards","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mexia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9844384"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_70448","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":953,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"28.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.5,"schoolId":70448,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Twin Peaks K-8 School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Twin Peaks K-8 School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/marana-unified-school-district-6/twin-peaks-elementary-school/70448"}
