I currently have a unit that I explain the difference between a costume piece and a prop. Costume pieces stay on your body and may never have choreography attached. \r\n\r\nHaving the ability to read a picture book to my 5th graders about an important historical tap dancer is wonderful. I teach a class with special needs and that is a perfect addition to giving them a visual of who he is. We were able to use the supplies to have 6th graders create 3D models of an Egyptian topic for their museum display that they presented to 5th grade. We also used our posters as one of the choices for Chinese Dynasties and our 5th grade three branches of government. Students were able to show off these two big projects to our community during are Spanish Immersion showcase. This quarter our 6th graders tackled Athens vs. Sparta, where each group had to convince others that their city was better than the other. Students went above and beyond by incorporating games, brochures, bookmarks as part of their presentations. None of this would have been possible without your generosity.
