The chair fits her perfectly—she is able to sit comfortably at her desk alongside her classmates and, for the first time, has the proper support for her feet and legs. The wheels have treads like bike tires, so when we have a fire drill it wont be a struggle to push her on the field. No longer does she have to worry about not being able to move around the building. Instead, she can focus on learning, participating, and enjoying her school day just like every other child.\r\n\r\nThe moment she first sat in her new wheelchair, her face lit up with relief and excitement. Her family has shared with me that they are at a loss for words and overwhelmed with gratitude for the kindness of strangers who made this possible. They are so thankful for the comfort, dignity, and independence this gift has brought to their daughter.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, the wheelchair has already opened new opportunities. She is able to join group projects more easily, participate fully in lessons, and move with confidence from one activity to the next.
