The impact of these books has already been seen in the students practice of finding evidence to back up their responses to reflection questions we use for reading comprehension. Each student has their own book to work through questions and go back to find page numbers and direct quotes from the text. As we read this book aloud, I was delighted to hear my scholars beg to read more as the chapters ended with cliffhangers on multiple occasions. \r\n\r\nThis novel also helped expand the vocabulary of my scholars. I would hear them use these new words in conversations with their special areas teachers, and it made my teacher heart so proud. None of this would be possible without YOU!
