This project has been a huge inspiration for my students to excel in class, as it is a brand-new experience and a special tradition that only our 5th graders get to participate in each year.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment I would like to share is when they started their mini indoor nursery in preparation for the garden. I could tell right away how excited and invested they were in their little \"garden\"—they even spent their entire recess tending to their nursery! Their endless questions about what will happen next, why we do certain steps, and what the future of their garden will look like bring so much joy and excitement to my teaching.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are waiting for our seeds to grow, and as soon as they are ready, we will transplant them into our garden beds. While waiting, the students have been actively preparing the outdoor space by pulling weeds and cultivating the soil.\r\n\r\nNext week, we will be fully setting up our new garden beds.\r\n\r\nThank you so much again for your support. This project not only provides a deeply meaningful experience for my students, but it will also leave a lasting impact on our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1776466654922,"projectUrl":"project/helping-hands-for-our-little-green-thumb/10184127/","projectTitle":"Helping Hands for Our Little Green Thumbs!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jamaica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10475685_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y154&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775594179699","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10475685"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64040","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":222,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":91,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.9,"schoolId":64040,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Academia Del Pueblo on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Academia Del Pueblo","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/friendly-house-inc-/academia-charter-school/64040"}
