This may seem like a simple appliance, but it has opened up exciting new learning opportunities that were not possible before. Recently, students planned and prepared their first breakfast project, which included healthy choices from multiple food groups. Having a refrigerator allowed us to safely store ingredients such as milk, yogurt, eggs, fruit, and other perishable foods, making the experience much more authentic and meaningful.\r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled when they saw the refrigerator arrive. Many immediately began talking about new recipes and cooking projects they could try. During our breakfast activity, students worked together to plan meals, practice food safety skills, use proper cooking techniques, and apply what they have learned about nutrition. Seeing their excitement as they prepared and enjoyed a breakfast they created themselves was a memorable moment for our class.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, students will build on these experiences by exploring meal planning, nutrition, food preparation, budgeting, and other important life skills. The refrigerator will continue to support hands-on learning experiences that help students gain confidence and independence in the kitchen. Thank you for investing in our students and helping make these real-world learning opportunities possible. Your generosity is making a lasting impact on their education and future success.","fullyFundedDate":1786366865626,"projectUrl":"project/cool-tool-for-future-chefs/10393903/","projectTitle":"Cool Tool for Future Chefs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Conrad","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8830115_orig.jpg?crop=1315,1315,x0,y56&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710197856240","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8830115"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134228","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":554,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":43,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":38,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":134228,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about San Tan Mountain Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"San Tan Mountain Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/florence-unified-school-district-1/san-tan-mountain-middle-school/134228"}
