They are collaborating more and approaching these challenging texts with curiosity rather than hesitation. \r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful that you chose to invest in my students. All of the items have been received and we are working hard at putting it together and starting to grow items from the seeds that we got. The shade structures that we received are helping to ensure that the plants are getting the correct amount of sunlight, especially with the hot AZ sun that we have! Some of the plants need some shade! \r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when all the items started to arrive at the school! They set out the stepping stones to create a path to different garden boxes that we have plants growing in. The hydroponics gardens are being used inside to start the growing process and students love learning about how that process works. The students are most excited about having the opportunity to paint rocks and place them in the garden. They know that they are the first group of students to have this garden and that their legacy will remain there for many years to come. The rocks that they are painting will be spread around the garden with words of kindness and decorated to make the garden more beautiful!","fullyFundedDate":1765063246434,"projectUrl":"project/operation-keep-it-growing/9907255/","projectTitle":"Operation: Keep It Growing","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Helmick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3363305_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1647704075312","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3363305"},{"teacherId":7549880,"projectId":9898347,"letterContent":"Our First Grade Team has been using the whiteboard easels at least 3 days a week in each of our classrooms to enhance our \"Building Thinking Classroom\" collaborative learning process. We use the large playing cards to form groups so that the groups can be made quickly and efficiently. Working in diversified groups helps the students access different types of learning strategies through sharing. \r\nWe have found that the students really look forward to this part of their day. They are also learning to share, cooperate, and have discussions about different problems. The whiteboards allow the student to also walk around and see how other students solve problems. So far we have used the whiteboard easels for word problems, balancing equations, and showing different ways to represent a number. We have also used these materials to enhance our ELA program by using the white boards to classify words and do peer editing collaboratively. There are so many ways we intend to use these products as we move forward. Thank you to all that donated! Instead of simply reading about scientific concepts or hearing explanations, students now have the chance to explore ideas through hands-on experiences. As they program their Spheros to move, react, and solve challenges, they develop a deeper understanding of force, motion, energy, and problem-solving. This interactive approach keeps them excited and motivated, allowing curiosity to guide their learning.\r\n\r\nThe addition of these robots has also strengthened students' ability to connect technology with real-world applications. They begin to see coding not as an abstract skill, but as a powerful tool used by engineers, scientists, and innovators every day. Whether they are designing a path for the Sphero to model planetary motion or programming it to navigate a maze, students learn how technology can be applied to solve problems and create solutions.
