Our students now have access to 1-to-1 percussion instruments to use during instructional time. Before we had the new equipment students were sharing 3 instruments for rehearsals that they couldn't take home for practicing. Now we have the proper instruments that students can borrow to learn and improve with. \r\n\r\nWhen students received the kits for the first time they were very excited and happy about not having to be squished into one instrument. Within a week students were taking drum pads and practice bells home to practice. Now we are able to have a dedicated percussion class in which students can receive dedicated and specific instruction to perform at a higher level.\r\n\r\nFuture plans for the program include going to more regional music festivals for performance and to form a drum line for football games and parades. We want to strive to meet our district vision statement to be competitive, unique, successful, and driven. We are ready to put our school on the map in the musical arena.","fullyFundedDate":1774302901227,"projectUrl":"project/operation-improve-chs-percussion/10126658/","projectTitle":"Operation Improve CHS Percussion","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Begay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10445112"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56984","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":958,"numTeachers":65,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":99,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":36.4,"schoolId":56984,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Chinle High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Chinle High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/chinle-unified-school-district-24/chinle-high-school/56984"}
