My students have a completely different perspective on reading and look forward to their 30-minute silent reading block every day. They have been racking up reading steps like you would not believe!\r\nI strongly believe that reading can take children to different places when they are reading a book they actually enjoy. I tell them repeatedly that they do not need an airplane ticket and suitcase to visit some of these places and experiences around the world, because a lot of these books will take them there in their pages.
