We didn't have any sharpies in our classroom before you supplied them. We have used them for Arbor Day Posters, making metalwork cuff bracelets, and with our new project, making details on painted hummingbirds to honor the World War II Navajo Code Talkers. The Navajo Code Talkers used the Navajo word \"da-he-tih-hi\" for hummingbirds to represent fighter planes as they transmitted vital military messages. The students have approached each one of these projects with enthusiasm. When we were working on the Arbor Day posters, the students asked every day for a full week to be allowed to come into the art room to work on posters during their lunch periods in order to finish on time. The art classroom was full every lunch period. \r\n\r\nWe have started a beading club and demonstrated how to bead using a loom, but realized we needed more looms to actually use them within the full art class, so we are working on getting more of them now.
