The resources from Maker Space Essentials to Power Student Creativity and STEAM Design have helped us launch vibrant fine arts and design projects that nurture creativity and cultural connection.\r\n\r\nStudents have painted Pumpkin Swirls watercolors inspired by folk artist Alpha Andrews, created Mexican folk art mirrors during Hispanic Heritage Month, crafted dream catchers alongside our Powwow Day lessons, and designed line-art and collage monsters to explore texture, color, and form. These projects have helped even our most hesitant learners see themselves as artists and innovators.\r\n\r\nIn addition to these art experiences, students use our makerspace tools to add creative touches to their engineering builds—decorating structures, designing signs, and turning simple prototypes into works of art. The joy and pride they feel when sharing their creations are absolutely priceless.\r\n\r\nYour donation gave us the materials to make learning beautiful, meaningful, and hands-on. They've practiced problem-solving with cup-stacking challenges, built Gratitude Towers that combine reflection with design, and learned that even \"failed\" experiments lead to new discoveries.\r\n\r\nYour support has made it possible for students to think like engineers, test ideas, and collaborate joyfully. Many of my young learners had never built or designed anything before this year. Now, they approach each challenge with excitement and confidence—learning that persistence and teamwork can turn ideas into success.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us build not just STEAM projects, but bright futures filled with curiosity and wonder.\r\n\r\nWith heartfelt gratitude,\r\nLauren Bradley\r\nReading Interventionist & STEAM Coordinator","fullyFundedDate":1757558467408,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-futures-with-hands-on-st/9652266/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Futures with Hands-On STEAM","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bradley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9644301_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723677001069","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9644301"},{"teacherId":6360452,"projectId":9478050,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible generosity and support of our school through Donors Choose. Thanks to your donations, we have been able to bring in an amazing collection of math and language manipulatives and resources that are already transforming learning experiences for our students. These materials have allowed us to create engaging, hands-on center activities that make abstract concepts come alive. Students are not only building foundational skills but also developing confidence and a deeper love for learning as they explore new ways to problem-solve, collaborate, and think critically.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been felt across our classrooms. Small-group instruction has become more targeted and effective, and students are excited to rotate through centers where they can apply what they've learned in meaningful, interactive ways. It is truly inspiring to see their enthusiasm as they work with materials that meet their diverse learning needs and help them connect with content on a deeper level.
