Our school, like many others, has struggled greatly with our budget since the pandemic, so new art supplies have not been a top priority for the school. The students have gotten used to using limited options, with some of those old options being too old or worn down to really work very well anymore. My fifth graders were so thrilled and excited to use the glitter paints on their Great Wave project, they have absolutely loved getting to use those!\r\nMy 7th graders have been experimenting with using blending pencils to create realistic reflections in water and my 8th graders have just started using the gouache and skin color tempera cakes to create a collaborative group Mona Lisa. My 3rd grade students recently used the new watercolor paper to create a Stonehenge landscape and they were thrilled to have paper that worked so well with the paints, versus the printer paper they have sometimes had to use before. My 5th graders have used the new Sharpies to complete their Grant Haffner inspired landscapes, and the new Crayola markers to complete an optical illusion art project. Students of all ages have been able to use the new smocks when they are painting, and I'm sure their parents are grateful for the smock too as they have protected their uniforms from some paint mishaps! The new storage rack for them as well has been a great help for keeping our classroom organized.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for all you have done to enhance my students' experience in art! Having more options available to them has really helped them expand their creativity and experimentation with materials!","fullyFundedDate":1742964001970,"projectUrl":"project/creativity-and-self-discovery-through-ar/9155735/","projectTitle":"Creativity and Self Discovery Through Art","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wolpert","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9966555"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103496","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":464,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":22,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":36,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":28,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.2,"schoolId":103496,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Reid Trad School - Painted Rock on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Reid Trad School - Painted Rock","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/arizona-department-of-education/painted-rock-academy/103496"}
