This funding also provided charcoal pencils, cotton balls, and watercolor paper for students to utilize for art therapy. \r\n\r\nStudents were thrilled to received new supplies. They are eager to engage in whatever new activities are thrown their way during Mindful Mondays, Wellness Wednesdays, and Flourish Fridays! These activities foster creativity and allow students to express themselves outside of the academic realm, providing a time for those right brain students to flourish and getting other students to get out of their comfort zone to try something new. Either way, students can take a break from math and English, to build relationships and relieve a bit of stress.","fullyFundedDate":1789147107162,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-with-creativity/10597545/","projectTitle":"Rolling with Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10359166"},{"teacherId":10359166,"projectId":10191599,"letterContent":"We are incorporating the new resources into our classrooms to create meaningful opportunities for students to practice positive thinking, build resilience, and develop healthy ways to manage stress. The \"Don't Believe Everything You Think\" books are helping introduce conversations about mindset, self-talk, and how our thoughts influence the way we approach challenges. Students are also enjoying the sand as a calming, sensory activity that provides a chance to relax and refocus. Games like Connect 4 and Battleship encourage positive peer interactions, strategic thinking, patience, and sportsmanship, while LEGOs give students an opportunity to build, problem-solve, and experience the satisfaction of creating something of their own.\r\n\r\nOne especially meaningful way we are using these resources is by connecting positive mindset lessons with watercolor painting and drawing activities. Students are encouraged to create artwork that represents positive thoughts, personal strengths, goals, or something that brings them happiness. This gives them an opportunity to express themselves creatively while reinforcing the importance of positive self-talk and recognizing their own abilities.
