Because of you, learning has become more hands-on, engaging, and joyful for my students.\r\n\r\nWe used Cheese-Its to explore the Pythagorean Theorem by building right triangles and physically counting and comparing squares on each side. This made an abstract concept concrete and easy to understand. Our graphic notebooks helped students organize their thinking as they learned how to graph linear functions and perform shape transformations such as reflections, rotations, and translations. Students were able to see their growth right in their notebooks!\r\n\r\nThe chart paper allowed us to create colorful posters with new information, examples, and strategies that now hang in our classroom for students to review and reference daily. Outside, the pipes and the tug-of-war rope helped us build in cooperative games and brain breaks. These activities gave students a chance to move, reset their minds, and practice teamwork—while still connecting to problem-solving and strategy.\r\n\r\nThe excitement on their faces when they first saw and used the supplies was unforgettable. They were happy, curious, and eager to learn. Many students said math felt more fun and easier to understand because they could \"see it\" and \"touch it.\"\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to continue using these materials to design even more real-life math activities, outdoor learning stations, and group challenges that build both academic and social skills. Your donation is making a lasting difference in how our students experience school.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and supporting their growth.\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nIrina Marinescu","fullyFundedDate":1763904287147,"projectUrl":"project/math-explorers/9909712/","projectTitle":"Math Explorers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marinescu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8385768_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1647836767564","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8385768"},{"teacherId":2327315,"projectId":9068581,"letterContent":"With your generous donation, I could assign books to non-readers and have them complete a book report which they excelled at.
