First, the learning that was happening in my room today was tangible. Kids were describing the useful energy as it transformed and traveled through the mouse trap, as well as the non-useful energy byproducts. They were able to clearly explain their understanding using the correct academic vocabulary and SEE the concept right in front of them. This is the practice round leading to them designing and building their OWN version, which they are now 100% excited to dive into thanks to your generosity. These games served every purpose I had hoped for months ago when posting this project.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, on a personal level, my kids have recently suffered the unthinkable. Two weeks ago, we lost one of our students in a tragic car accident. Our days have slowly began to lighten as we continue to work through our grief together. While the loss is still present in our hearts and minds, today filled my heart with joy. Watching my kids today... so engaged in learning that they were able to laugh and enjoy themselves while learning science & playing this classic 90's board game was pure magic. I will never have enough words to thank you for this moment.","fullyFundedDate":1759264779554,"projectUrl":"project/the-science-of-games/9591133/","projectTitle":"The Science of Games","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tallman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2156043_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1490220493390","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/samantha-tallman"},{"teacherId":9851346,"projectId":9352740,"letterContent":"I am so deeply grateful for your incredible generosity in funding our classroom project. Your donation provided us with a colored printer, CloroxPro disinfecting wipes, Elmer's glue sticks, Expo markers, microfiber whiteboard erasers, and Astrobrights colored printer paper—each of which has already become an essential part of our daily learning environment. These may seem like simple supplies, but to my students and me, they represent organization, creativity, and a cleaner, more inspiring space to learn and grow.\r\n\r\nWhen the box arrived, the students' excitement was immediate. They crowded around as we unpacked each item, eager to see what new tools we had to use. The moment the color printer was set up, they were already full of ideas. \"Can we print our art projects in color?\" \"Can we make our own class signs?\" \"Can we print our science diagrams in color so they look like real ones?\" Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it reminded me why I love teaching — their curiosity and creativity come alive when they're given the right resources.\r\n\r\nThe color printer has truly transformed how we showcase learning in our classroom. Before, students' digital work often stayed on a screen or was printed in plain black and white. Now, they get to see their projects come to life in vivid color. During our latest project, \"My Future Self,\" where students created digital vision boards about their goals and dreams, we printed each one in full color on Astrobrights paper. The bright hues made the entire display board pop, and students were glowing with pride seeing their work presented so beautifully. One student said, \"It feels like something you'd see in a museum.\" That sense of ownership and pride in their work is priceless.\r\n\r\nYour donation of CloroxPro wipes has also been a game changer for maintaining a healthy classroom. Middle schoolers are wonderful, but they're also full of energy — and germs! Having a steady supply of wipes allows us to clean desks, shared supplies, and technology daily. The students even help out with \"Clean Sweep\" at the end of class. It's built a sense of responsibility and respect for our shared space, and it helps keep everyone healthier and focused on learning.\r\n\r\nThe Elmer's glue sticks, Expo markers, and microfiber erasers have brought structure and efficiency to our classroom routines. My students use glue sticks constantly during interactive notebook lessons, collage projects, and creative writing covers. Having plenty available means no more waiting or sharing one dried-out glue stick among five students. The Expo markers and erasers have refreshed our whiteboard activities — from math problem races to vocabulary challenges, students love using the clean, bold markers, and the new erasers make our boards spotless in seconds. These small upgrades have made teaching smoother and learning more fun.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next big project is preparing for our Student Showcase Night. Students will be printing and mounting their best writing samples, science visuals, and art pieces using the colored printer and Astrobrights paper. The goal is to create a gallery-style display where families can walk through and see each student's progress and creativity on full display. Your donation has made that possible — every bright color, every clean desk, and every well-glued piece of work will be a direct reflection of your generosity.\r\n\r\nIt's amazing how a combination of practical supplies and creative tools can bring so much life to a classroom. Your support has allowed my students to feel proud, capable, and cared for in their learning environment. They take more ownership of their work, collaborate more confidently, and show a level of excitement that fills the room each day.\r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart for investing in our classroom. You've given us the ability to learn more effectively, create more beautifully, and care for our space more responsibly. Your kindness has truly made a lasting impact—not only on me as a teacher, but on every student who walks through my classroom door this year and beyond.","fullyFundedDate":1757717601909,"projectUrl":"project/colorful-learning-tools-for-creative-cl/9352740/","projectTitle":"Colorful Learning: Tools for Creative Classrooms","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Torres","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9851346_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x0,y429&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733089214804","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9851346"},{"teacherId":9851346,"projectId":9573117,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation that helped bring a color printer into our classroom. This resource has truly transformed the way my students learn, create, and share their work. What once felt like an ordinary classroom now feels like a creative hub — filled with vibrant visuals, colorful projects, and students who are more engaged and proud of their accomplishments than ever before.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the printer arrived, the excitement in the room was contagious. The students watched as I unboxed it and immediately began brainstorming all the ways we could use it. For many of them, seeing their work printed in full color for the first time was something really special. I'll never forget the look on one student's face when she saw her digital artwork printed out and mounted on our classroom wall — she said, \"It looks real, like something from a gallery!\" That moment captured exactly what this project was about: helping students see the value and beauty in their own creativity.\r\n\r\nWe've already integrated the printer into several classroom lessons and ongoing projects. One of the first ways we used it was for our \"Biography Museum\" project, where students researched influential historical figures and designed informational posters. In the past, students could only use black-and-white prints for their images and headings, which often made their displays feel flat. With the new color printer, their posters came to life! They carefully selected images, created colorful titles, and printed QR codes that linked to their research presentations. The pride and ownership they felt while presenting their work were truly remarkable — and the visual impact in the classroom was stunning.\r\n\r\nBeyond large projects, we're also using the printer daily for smaller but equally meaningful activities. I've been able to print colorful anchor charts, classroom labels, learning games, and visuals that help support different learning styles. For my visual learners, having access to bright, detailed images makes lessons far more accessible and engaging. For my students who need extra encouragement, I've started printing personalized certificates and motivational notes on colorful templates — small gestures that go a long way in building their confidence.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite uses so far has been during our \"Frozen Jr.\" musical preparation. Students were able to design and print colorful rehearsal schedules, character sheets, and promotional posters. The excitement of seeing their names and roles printed in bold color was priceless — it gave them a sense of professionalism and pride in being part of something bigger than themselves. This simple tool has turned every project into a more authentic and creative experience.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're planning to use the printer for our upcoming \"Student Showcase Night.\" Each student will print their own cover page, reflections, and visuals to include in their portfolio presentations. The color printer will help their work stand out and give families a chance to see just how much effort and creativity their children have put into their learning this year.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our classroom feels more vibrant, innovative, and student-centered. The color printer has not only enhanced the quality of our projects but has also inspired students to dream bigger and take pride in their work. You have given us a resource that we will continue to use daily — one that supports creativity, organization, and self-expression.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the importance of hands-on, colorful, and engaging learning experiences. Your kindness has truly made a lasting impact on both me and my students, and I hope you know how much your support means to all of us. Your support provided us with the Electric 3 Hole Paper Punch, VEYETTE Heavy Duty Commercial Hole Puncher with Adapter and the InTheOffice Pink Copy Paper — two items that may seem simple but have made an incredible difference in the way my students and I organize, create, and engage with our classroom work.\r\n\r\nAs a middle school teacher, I'm always looking for ways to help my students take ownership of their learning and feel proud of their work. These resources have been instrumental in helping us build that sense of independence and creativity. The electric hole punch has quickly become one of our most used tools — especially during student projects and portfolio preparation. Before, we relied on a manual hole punch that often jammed, required a lot of strength to use, and slowed down the process for both myself and my students. Now, with the electric hole punch, my students can easily prepare their own packets, organize assignments, and compile study guides without waiting in line or worrying about errors. It's efficient, reliable, and surprisingly fun for them to use!\r\n\r\nA particularly special moment came during our first week using the new paper puncher. My students were working on their \"Goal Journals\" — a long-term project where they record their personal and academic goals, reflections, and progress throughout the semester. Each student decorated a cover and used your donated materials to assemble their journals neatly into binders. The excitement on their faces as they used the new hole punch for the first time was priceless. One student even said, \"This feels so official — like we're making our own books!\" Seeing them take pride in such a simple yet meaningful classroom activity reminded me how powerful the right tools can be in creating a sense of ownership and motivation.\r\n\r\nThe pink copy paper has also added a bright and joyful energy to our classroom! We've used it for a variety of purposes — from motivational quote posters and creative writing covers to communication letters home and art-integrated assignments. Students are drawn to the cheerful color, and it helps them easily identify special tasks or project materials. For example, in our recent unit on \"Acts of Kindness,\" students wrote letters of appreciation to staff members using the pink paper. The colorful notes were a beautiful visual reminder of the positivity and gratitude we aim to foster every day.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are now preparing for our upcoming \"Student Showcase Night,\" where families will visit our classroom to see the incredible work they've been doing this semester. Thanks to your donation, each student will be able to assemble their own presentation portfolio using the electric hole punch to bind their writing samples, art projects, and reflections. The pink paper will serve as their section dividers, giving their portfolios a polished and professional look. They are so proud to have the tools to do this work independently, and your generosity has directly contributed to that confidence.\r\n\r\nIt's amazing how a few classroom tools can help students feel empowered, organized, and excited to learn. Your contribution has enhanced not only our efficiency but also our creativity and classroom culture. Thank you for supporting my students, for believing in the power of education, and for helping me create a space where learning feels both structured and inspiring. I had two birthdays on the same day, so the boys shared the Birthday Bear for the day! They were both smiling and dancing in their chairs when the bear sang to them. The rest of the students were as excited as they were because they realized their turns were coming! We've celebrated all the \"missed\" birthdays, including those during the summer and holiday breaks, which never get celebrated in class.\r\n\r\nBecause I received a new SMART Board MX from my grant writing, I have lost half of my whiteboard space. The sticky note pads have become more of a necessity than I could have imagined! I create anchor charts or notes and am able to move them around the room to make room for the next lesson. This also helps greatly when I'm working with small groups because the chart can be applied to the wall where we're working.\r\n\r\nI have sent home 30 positive notes in the first 30 days of school! Parents are thrilled to see words of praise for their children on the super cute notecards! Your thoughtful contribution, including the new small group table, rolling whiteboard, and essential supplies like pencils, has made a significant impact on our classroom environment.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these wonderful resources, both my students and I have been able to use them in so many exciting ways. The small group table has quickly become a central spot in our classroom for collaborative learning. It allows students to work together more comfortably on projects and discussions, helping them build essential teamwork and communication skills. The rolling whiteboard is a game-changer during lessons. It gives me the flexibility to move it around the room, keeping the class dynamic and interactive, while also encouraging students to contribute their ideas.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was infectious! Their eyes lit up when they realized we now had a dedicated space for group work and a new whiteboard to brainstorm and solve problems together. They couldn't wait to dive into using them, and it was clear that these new additions were going to make learning even more enjoyable for everyone.\r\n\r\nOne specific project we're currently working on is a group presentation reviewing all of 7th grade standards. The small group table is allowing students to collaborate more effectively, and they're using the rolling whiteboard to brainstorm ideas and organize their research. It's amazing to see how much they're growing as independent learners, and I know these new resources are helping to spark even more creativity and enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are planning to continue using these resources for a variety of upcoming lessons and projects. In fact, the students are excited about creating more interactive, hands-on presentations in the coming weeks. Their ability to work together and engage with the material has been elevated by the thoughtful materials you've provided.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
