I teach many students who have sensory needs and love to chew on the cords of their wired headphones. This became a hazard over and over. Having the wireless headphones, the students are able to work on their i-Ready without chewing on the cord. They have been using the other chewies that we were able to purchase. \r\n\r\nThe bracelet and necklace chewies have been perfect for not only chewing on them but also the students are able to keep them on their bodies and not lose them! With the chewies on their bodies also makes sure that no other student picks up someone else's from the tables! Our variety of sensory items we received have been great for my students who like to change their minds every hour on what helps them calm down. Sensory items and fidgets are also very helpful to get students to go from place to place in the school safely. \r\n\r\nLast but not least, the bins with lids we have assigned to each student allow the students to keep their items safely in their cubbies. They know what headphones, chewies, and favorite sensory toys are theirs and that they will be available to them in their bins. Thank you to everyone who has helped our kiddos have a better day!!","fullyFundedDate":1746483218603,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-input-learning-output/9273043/","projectTitle":"Sensory Input, Learning Output","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hammond","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5712972_orig.jpg?crop=443,443,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661584349365","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5712972"},{"teacherId":9595020,"projectId":8500155,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous support of our class! My students were blown away by the thought of people they had never met investing in their education. So many of these kids find at school much more than learning -- they find stability, care, and a hot meal they may not get consistently at home. Knowing that they are seen and valued makes a huge difference in how they show up at school, which has a powerful impact on their learning.\r\n\r\nThe materials you provided allowed us to do several projects, most notably:\r\n- paint pictures of adult salmon to culminate our unit on a salmon's life cycle\r\n- create science fair posters about landslides, slime, rocket catchers, and projectiles\r\n- up next: dissecting a cow's eye to tie up our study of the brain and vision!\r\n\r\nOther supplies helped us organize and manage the classroom and create a welcoming space for all. They may not have made as big a splash as our art and science projects, but they were invaluable for their quiet presence.\r\n\r\nReflecting back on this year, I am truly grateful for your support. Please know you have made a difference in my room and these students' lives.","fullyFundedDate":1731634013232,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-steam-in-academics/8500155/","projectTitle":"Engaging STEAM in Academics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Quarteroni","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9595020_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721159471872","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9595020"},{"teacherId":9581109,"projectId":8477603,"letterContent":"The addition of flexible seating to our classroom has made a tremendous impact on both student engagement and overall learning experiences. From the moment my students walked in and saw the new seating options, their excitement was undeniable. Their eyes lit up as they explored the different chairs. It was a joy to see their enthusiasm as they found seating that best suited their learning styles, making the classroom feel more inviting and student-centered.\r\n\r\nSince incorporating flexible seating, I have noticed a positive shift in focus, collaboration, and comfort. Students who previously struggled with staying engaged now have options that help them stay attentive and involved in lessons. The ability to choose where and how they sit has encouraged independence and responsibility, while also fostering a more dynamic and interactive learning environment. Whether working in small groups or independently, students feel empowered to take control of their learning space, and it has been incredible to witness their growth. During read to self time, they can relax and enjoy their book\r\n\r\nThank you for making this transformation possible—your generosity has truly made a lasting difference!","fullyFundedDate":1723239440895,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/8477603/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9581109_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722004016839","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581109"},{"teacherId":2795024,"projectId":7640696,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to my classroom snack time. Working in a school where students do not always have access to extra snacks can be hard but with your donations I was able to provide a snack everyday to my students. They really enjoyed having a wide selection of things to choose from and they looked forward to having snack time everyday. We greatly appreciate all of the generosity and help in providing us with plenty of snacks. Having these donations really helps teachers out especially when most of the time we are the ones paying for snacks out of our own pockets.
