Myself and my educational community are absolutely blown away by how much people were willing to give in such a short amount of time, especially just before the holidays.\r\n\r\nThe community that I serve has faced many hardships both historically and in recent years. Some of the hardships have resulted in a distrust for the school environment. With your help, we have been able to make our classroom a more calming space through use of SEL posters and and calming, inviting decorations.\r\n\r\nStudents have been able to use the posters pictured to guide themselves in self-calming techniques and to check in with themselves. I have noticed that more and more students are able to take control of their emotions (which is a sentiment shared by the students through our climate survey) and in turn, take control of their day, their week, and their education.\r\n\r\nAs an educator, it is my job to teach students Language Arts. It is also my job to help them to grow as people. You have aided us in our growth of maturity and emotional health and for that, we cannot thank you enough.
