More importantly, I saw shy students step forward to serve in a close game, encourage their teammates, and take pride in their progress. The court became a place where middle schoolers and high schoolers supported one another, laughed together, and built genuine connections across grade levels. Attendance stayed strong because students wanted to be there — not just to play, but to belong. This project gave our youth a healthy, active space to build skills, strengthen their confidence, and experience what it feels like to be part of a supportive community.
