Our new iPads are used in conjunction with our STEM labs. Our science curriculum focuses greatly on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. \r\n\r\nWe use the apps downloaded on the iPad as a companion to meet our State Course of Study Standards. In science lab students use the timer app, the metrics conversion app, the light meter app, calculator and magnifier app, just to name a few. \r\n\r\nThe iPads are used for research and as a resource. Classroom questions can be answered immediately, expanding the content knowledge of the classroom. Science simulations such as Phet Interactive Simulations are used by students through the iPads. Using simulations as a teaching tool enables students to interact with virtual equipment not found in the classroom.\r\n\r\nStudents use iPads to compete in groups and individually through review games found in online resources such as Kahoot, Quizlet, and Blooket that reinforce scientific concepts and vocabulary. Our school system uses online assessments, the iPads too, are used to complete the assessments. \r\n\r\n My students' favorite thing about our iPads is their ability to use it as a companion with our Ozobots to program the little robots to perform a variety of tasks. Ozoblockly is used to program movements, lights, and even musical tones to program the Ozobots introduces the students to computer coding. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for supporting my classroom.
