Students were smiling, flipping through the pages, and recalling the details that we had read from the story. For many of them, this was one of the few books they have ever owned. That moment alone was powerful. Watching them realize, \"This is mine.\"\r\n\r\nThroughout March, we used our book bracket to build a love of reading in a fun and engaging way. Students compared stories, made predictions, defended their opinions, and truly began to see themselves as readers. Salt in His Shoes stood out to them not just for its story, but for its message. We had meaningful conversations about patience, perseverance, and what it means to keep working hard even when things don't come easy. Many students connected Michael Jordan's journey to their own lives. Whether it was learning a new skill, improving in reading, or not giving up when something felt difficult.\r\n\r\nNow, as the school year comes to a close, my students didn't just walk away with memories. They walked away with a book that represents their growth. They have something they can read again, share with their families, and be reminded of what they are capable of. You've helped extend learning beyond the classroom and into their homes.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has done more than provide books. You have helped build confidence, create excitement around reading, and give students something meaningful to hold onto.
