My students were curious to see what was that big red and blue item sitting where our small one table sand and water table used to be. It wasn't put together until they left for the day. So the next morning they started asking questions and I told them how you all donated it and other items to our classroom.\r\n They were excited when they began to play in the sand with the new beach toys that came along with the water and sand table. We are studying CLOTHES as our theme for the next few weeks. I put soap and water in the water table, then added tools and baby doll clothes in the tub so they can pretend to wash the clothes the old fashion way. Before they started, they had to put on the long sleeve water smock that we also received to cover their clothes from getting wet during playtime and learning. \r\n In the art center, they also use the different colored trays to make a picture. They painted the tray with a brush, drew a picture with a q-tip, then placed a piece of paper on top of the paint and pressed down. After about 30 seconds, they pulled the paper up to reveal the design they made. They have so much fun with our new items, that they ask to play with it daily. Our next step is to add it to my lesson plan and use these donated items in several different ways to enhance their creativity and imaginations. We are using our new resources throughout the day. We use the timer to help keep us on track with our daily schedule. When it goes off, my students know when it's time to clean up, go outside, and eating breakfast, lunch, and snack. We use the sports name tags to put on their cubbies and their take home folder. \r\n They use playdoh to make an emotional face on the Feelings dough mats to express how they are feeling today. The dry erase markers helps them trace their name, write their name, or draw a picture. I also use them on my board when Im teaching. \r\n Celebrating birthdays 🥳 ia a big thing in my classroom. Each child feels special when we sing and celebrate their big day. So all the birthday party favors like the birthday cards, hats, small toys and the bag plays a big part of it. Their little faces light when they the different things in their bag. The next step is to use these items during center time, where they have a choice to play where they want to. One of our children, in particular, intentionally \"writes a letter to their mother\" using drawing and some mock-letter forms on the dry erase area of the writing table so that her mother can read her letter when she arrives to pick her up.
