My students have really enjoyed having the opportunity to play, and it has been exciting to see them turn the soccer equipment into something they can use during class, during skill practice, and when playing games with their classmates.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest things I have been able to teach through soccer is teamwork. Students have to communicate, make decisions, pass to one another, and learn that success is not always about being the person who scores. We have been able to work on dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control, and movement while also talking about sportsmanship and working together.\r\n\r\nFor our gym, this project means more than just adding soccer equipment. We are continuing to build a P.E. program where students have access to a variety of sports and activities. When we started, our gym had very limited equipment. With the help of DonorsChoose and the people in our community, we have been able to keep building and giving our students opportunities they may not otherwise have.\r\n\r\nA very special thank-you to everyone in our community who has continued to believe in our students and support our gym. When the equipment arrived, they were immediately curious and excited to try it. For many of my students, this was their first time ever playing tetherball, so watching them figure it out, practice, and challenge each other has been a lot of fun.\r\n\r\nOne thing I really love about tetherball is that it gives students another way to be active. Not every student is interested in traditional team sports, and tetherball gives them a different option. I've seen students who may not always be eager to participate in other activities get excited about playing tetherball and improving their skills.\r\n\r\nThis project is another step in helping us build a gym filled with different opportunities for our students. We started with very limited equipment, and thanks to the support of our donors and the amazing people in our community, we are continuing to add activities that give our students more choices.\r\n\r\nI want to give a special thank-you to everyone in our community who continues to support our students and our gym. Their excitement has helped transform the space into a more vibrant and engaging environment.\r\n\r\nThe new basketballs have also made a noticeable difference, inspiring more students to participate in drills, practice their skills, and join in group games. With better equipment and more options, students are more motivated to stay active and try new activities. Their positive attitudes and willingness to explore these games have helped build a stronger sense of community and made the PE room a place where everyone feels welcome and eager to learn.\r\nThank you so much for giving our students something to look forward to every day. They have been enjoying every single moment they've had in the gym. Our students were extra excited to hear that Mission Tiger help fund the new equipment in the gym.
