The resources that I purchased have given me a curriculum that prepares me to go into classrooms and focus on what I want to do in my counseling journey- which is to be with the kids and teach them coping skills that they need! I have done just that and as of last week, I have visited all 23 of our classes which makes the whole school. All age groups have really enjoyed it, and I saw a lot of faces light up and lots of participation. Thanks to you I'm not spending all of my time preparing a curriculum and finding ways to get students excited.. it is right at my fingertips ready to go! The excitement filled the room as we opened the boxes and got to work. The students eagerly followed directions step by step to help put the desks together, which turned into a great teamwork and problem-solving activity. It was wonderful to see them take pride in helping set up something that they knew would be theirs to use every day.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest highlights for my students is finally having their own personal space. Moving from shared tables to individual desks has been a big change, and they couldn't be happier. Each student now has a place that belongs just to them, and they are using it to keep their materials neat and organized. They store their pencil pouches, workbooks, binders, and extra supplies inside their desks, which means everything is right at their fingertips. This not only helps them stay prepared for lessons but also gives them a sense of responsibility for taking care of their own space.\r\n\r\nAnother feature that my students absolutely love is how easy the desks are to clean. Since my class loves to use markers during activities, I was a little worried about stains. But the desks are designed in such a way that any marker marks wipe right off, which makes cleanup quick and stress-free. The students are so proud of keeping their desks tidy, and it's teaching them good habits when it comes to taking care of their materials.\r\n\r\nThe built-in hooks on both sides of the desks have been another classroom favorite. My students quickly came up with a system—one side for their backpacks and the other side for their snack bags. This little feature has made a big difference in the flow of our classroom. Instead of having to walk across the room to retrieve their items, students can now grab what they need right from their desks. This helps us transition between activities more smoothly and gives the students a sense of independence.\r\n\r\nOverall, the new desks have been such a wonderful addition to our classroom. They have given my students ownership over their learning space, encouraged organization and responsibility, and made our daily routines easier and more efficient. Most importantly, my students are proud of their desks and genuinely enjoy using them every day. It's amazing how something as simple as a new desk can bring so much excitement, motivation, and joy into the classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1746786482093,"projectUrl":"project/new-desks-for-growing-minds/9259097/","projectTitle":"New Desks for Growing Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Wilburn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9059258_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744816595756","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9059258"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33919","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":406,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":82.8,"schoolId":33919,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Phil Campbell Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Phil Campbell Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/franklin-county-school-district/phil-campbell-elementary-school/33919"}
