Two students even teamed up to assemble the table themselves, bonding over the process and taking ownership of our new space right away. While small group tables are uncommon in high school settings, having this table has completely transformed the classroom dynamic and created a physical environment where collaboration and targeted learning can thrive. \r\n This new table made a difference in how me and another teacher collaborate together to deliver instruction with our multilingual students. After our whole-group lessons, we are now able to pull students back to the table to focus on the exact skills they need most. For example, during our recent personal narrative writing unit, we used this space to dive deep into sentence boundaries, adding transitions, and past tense verb forms. For my English language learners who were working hard to meet rigorous grade-level standards, sitting together at the small group table provided the safe, low-stakes environment they needed to practice verb conjugation and complete sentence structure. In just 20 minutes at this table, students gain more language skills and confidence than in 45 minutes of standard lecture because they get more individualized instruction which impacts their learning. \r\n Your contribution was so much more than a gift of furniture- it was a true investment in the students' communication, confidence, and voice. The small group table has quickly become the favorite spot in the classroom, and students frequently ask if they can sit together there to work.
